Te Mania Angus steps into a new era for Beef Week 2024

Te Mania Angus and its clients share a step into a new era with the 2024 Autumn on-property bull sale – and you can get a sneak preview next Friday February 2 at our Autumn sale preview during Beef Week field day.

The step we will share is the 80th Te Mania Angus bull sale, but the first in our new, purpose-built, sales complex at 1830 Woolsthorpe-Hexham Rd, Hexham, VIC.

The bulls will be yarded and available to walk through, without the ticking clock of sale day (making it particularly ideal for AuctionsPlus clients).

See bulls which have undergone cutting-edge ‘Single Step’ genetic evaluation, incorporating genomic, or DNA, information into the calculation of estimated breeding values (EBVs), which combined with our performance testing, data, and its analysis, Te Mania Angus is able to provide the highest level of information to buyers.

The gates open at 9am on February 2, the Te Mania Angus crew will be there to help with your questions about the breeding program, selecting the right bull for your herd, EBVs and Breeding Indexes.  Tours of the property and cattle yards will also be offered.

Te Mania Angus director Tom Gubbins says with 192 bulls catalogued, 165 are by homebred sires – this represents a huge slice of any catalogue. 77 per cent of the catalogue was conceived by either AI or ET (149 of 192 bulls), and the average IMF% of the sale team is 4.3 per cent, which is in the top 10 per cent of the breed and nearly two times the breed average.

Furthermore, to improve the versatility of the sales team, more than half the bulls in catalogue are suited for use over heifers.

This year the line up features sons of the homebred sires who have had progeny tested throughout commercial herds. Click link to view
