Mary and the late Andrew Gubbins founded Te Mania Angus in Australia in 1971. Established with 58 females and two bulls imported from Te Mania, New Zealand, the stud developed through continued performance testing, its analysis and a strong focus on consumer demands, into the high quality bloodline it is today.
The progress the herd achieved over those 50-plus years would be an integral part of the Angus success story, as a result of their early commitment to objective measurement and Mary’s instinctive marketing skills.
Like Andrew, Mary was a lifelong supporter of Angus genetics and was deeply passionate about both the cattle and the people involved in the industry.
Mary’s dedication and enthusiasm continue to influence many of the things we do to this day.
