Strong Volume Buying at Te Mania’s Northern Spring Sale

Our annual Northern Spring Sale in Walgett on August 12 saw strong competition from both return clients and new buyers. Heifer bulls and carcase-focused genetics were in high demand.

We sold 121 of 134 bulls under the hammer for a $10,371 average, with a three-way equal top price of $20,000. Volume buyers included Stratton Grazing, Roma Qld (15 bulls), Brenda Station, Goodooga (13 bulls), and  O’Brien Brigalows, Come by Chance (8 bulls) — alongside strong online bidding.

Top-priced sires offered exceptional EBVs for intramuscular fat, calving ease, gestation length, and carcase weight — delivering genetics suited to both the steer market and heifer joining programs.

With around 60% of the catalogue suited to heifers, we were pleased to present one of our most even drafts to date, ensuring prices remained accessible for commercial operations.
