BEEF WEEK offers the chance to make a relaxed, in-depth assessment of the bulls catalogued for the Te Mania Angus Autumn on-property bull sale at Te Mania Angus, Reichmans Lane, Mortlake, Victoria from 9am to 5pm on Thursday, February 2nd.

This early access to viewing the sale bulls is ideal to mark your sale catalogue, which will be available, particularly for those who will operate through AuctionsPlus on sale day.

Interactive catalogue here This catalogue features search and sort functions to help your bull selection. It has all the videos, EBVs, pedigrees and more.  Other versions are available below.  View PDF of print copy catalogue – here

Videos of each bull will be taken in February and will be available on line.  These videos are also used during the sale which is conducted on the screen, while the bulls graze outside, in display pens.

The latest Te Mania Angus bloodlines, which are known to excel through backgrounding and the feedlots, and are in demand from high quality restaurants. They are ideal for building strong breeding herds – due to their focus on all commercial traits – calving ease, growth, fertility, structure, docility and carcase traits.

With 2000 cows in the breeding herd, plus Te Mania bloodlines replicated throughout Team Te Mania commercial herds, we use the technology of Single Step genomics to identify the variation in the different sires and relations in the data.  Their numbers are more likely to remain constant.  More extreme, high performing animals at each end of the bell curve are highlighted, which can then be used in the seedstock herd to fast track genetic gain.

Selecting the right genetics for your herd, and its profitability, has never been more important than in the current market where high quality Angus cattle continue to attract premium prices.

This gives beef producers, and Te Mania Angus, the opportunity to accelerate genetic gain even further, because the predictions of how progeny will perform (EBVs) will be closer to what we see on the ground.

These bulls have been data recorded for Gestation Length, Calving Ease, Birthweight, 200D and 400D weight and scrotal size. Scanning data has been submitted for rib and rump fat, eye muscle area and intra muscular fat, and independently assessments for feet, legs and temperament. This raw data contributes to the EBV calculations, which provide values based on the animal and its relatives.
