In the competitive world of cattle breeding, standing out takes more than hard work — it takes consistency, data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to progress. As a discerning breeder, you know the value of selecting genetics that deliver reliable, long-term performance and real market impact. That’s exactly what Te Mania Angus offers — and it’s why we’ve again been recognised in the Top Studs 2024 publication.
Top Stud Status: A Welcome Endorsement
Te Mania Angus was proud to be named one of just 28 Angus studs across the country to meet the Top Stud criteria in 2024. The selection was based on a comprehensive analysis of Breedplan data by respected industry consultants Bush Agribusiness.
👉 Only studs that chose to opt-in via the Angus Australia website were assessed.
For our team, this recognition was both a surprise and an honour — a powerful endorsement of the work we’ve been doing for generations.
“Achievements like this are incredibly encouraging and a validation of the work our family has been committed to for three generations. The whole team gets a lift from it.” – Edward Gubbins.
Outperforming Where It Counts
What makes Te Mania Angus stand apart is the strength of our genetic performance across every key index — and not just recently, but consistently over time.
For more than a decade, our herd has delivered performance above breed average across:
-
Angus Breeding Index
-
Domestic Index
-
Heavy Grain Index
-
Heavy Grass Index
Across Breedplan, our results show we’re continuing to bend the growth curve — hitting the mark on marbling, birthweight, gestation length, days to calving and growth. These are the traits the market is chasing — and the ones that make a measurable difference to your bottom line.
At Te Mania Angus, we focus on breeding Angus beef cattle that combine performance, profitability, and long-term genetic value — helping commercial producers achieve more efficient and resilient herds.
Upcoming Sale: Northern Spring 2025

A Note from the Publishers
Bush Agribusiness has confirmed that Top Studs 2024 will remain the most recent edition. Due to the resource-intensive nature of the project and the gradual pace of genetic change, no 2025 edition will be released. However, the 2024 publication remains a current and credible reference point for identifying elite seedstock.
