Team Te Mania Efficiency and Sustainability Workshop – Tamworth NSW

Team Te Mania Workshop visits Goonoo Goonoo Station, Tamworth, Burundi Station, Barraba, Tullimba Research Feedlot and Rangers Valley, Glen Innes.

Last week, a group of 65 Team Te Mania members and beef industry representatives, enjoyed an immersion into best practices of beef production.

Over the four days, attendees heard about the latest research and discussions on efficiencies to improve the bottom line of beef cattle enterprises. Staying on-site in the restored 19th century pastoral village of Goonoo Goonoo Station, participants toured the property with Director, Tony Haggarty and heard from industry leaders including Jock Whittle, MIRA; Rob Banks and Steve Miller from AGBU; Alex Ball of Rural Analytics; Keith Howe Rangers Valley and MLA’s David Packer.

A highlight of the Workshop was the Team Te Mania Case Study presented by Garry and Leanne Hall of “The Mole”, Warren who shared a moving expose of the recent drought they have endured.

A panel was formed by the speakers, with Brad Walmsley, AGBU and Rob Wyld, Sapien Technology, who discussed leveraging technology to accelerate efficiency and sustainability in the beef chain.
