Vale Keith McFarlane

Te Mania Angus and Team Te Mania members are saddened to hear of the passing of Keith McFarlane, Wellington Lodge, Tailem Bend, SA.

Keith was a widely respected, innovative cattleman and a friend of many in the Angus world. He was a wonderful family man and great fun to be around.

Team Te Mania members will remember Keith for his interest and enthusiasm for embracing new cattle performance measures, for sharing information, and for encouraging the younger generation.

His contribution to Team Te Mania and its progeny testing was enormous, with an unwavering focus on improving meat quality in commercial herds.

Keith served on the Angus Australia Council for 10 years, and was Federal President from 1994-96. He was the first commercial cattle producer to serve as President of the Angus Council.

Keith contributed widely to the beef industry in South Australia, serving on Angus Australia’s SA State Committee for 30 years, and numerous roles with the RAS Society and the University of Adelaide.
