TE MANIA ANGUS WALGETT BULL SALE OFFERS GENETIC GAIN

Through its Australia-wide progeny test program, Te Mania genetics are tested and analysed in many different commercial environments, ensuring they breed true-to-type.

Through this far-reaching program, Te Mania Angus has built a reputation for the quality and style of its progeny, which is reflected by their demand on AuctionsPlus cattle sales, in the sale yards, and by backgrounders and lotfeeders.

Many thousands of records of Te Mania progeny are analysed by Breedplan, which are used to finetune breeding selections in the Stud herd. The depth of this feedback provides high accuracy EBVs, which has bred industry leaders such as Australia’s most widely used sire, Te Mania Emperor E343, followed closely by Te Mania Garth G67.

Te Mania Garth stands out for carcase quality, temperament, calving ease, growth and fertility. Add to this, all four of his $Index figures are in the top 5% of the Angus breed.  Garth will have 31 sons, in the coming Walgett bull sale.

The figures right through the catalogue back up Te Mania reputation, with the average of all the sale bulls in the top 10% of the Angus breed for both IMF and the Heavy Grain $Index.

Russell Hiscox of Clemson Hiscox said “the Te Mania bloodlines have developed a strong following on AuctionsPlus for weaners which continually achieve above market average results.”

Added to this, Russell said “The Te Mania cattle are well known for their good temperament.”

Te Mania co-principal, Hamish McFarlane works closely with many of the bull clients and said “even through difficult climatic conditions, cattle breeders have improved and developed high quality breeding herds, which have paid dividends.”

He said “at Te Mania Angus, we align our objectives with those of commercial producers, and that is to produce quality breeding herds, high in fertility and structure, turning off progeny which are high in the carcase quality and growth”.

“It is one of the many joys of my job, working with commercial producers who share the passion for adding value to their herds, and hitting the grids with top quality progeny”, he said.
