Low Stress Stockhandling (LSS) Schools

Cee on the gate

Te Mania Angus are great supporters of LSS courses and have been hosts and attendees for over a decade.

LSS courses are relevant to all livestock production industries and the people who work within them.  Skill levels of participants range from experienced and competent stockmen and women to total beginners.

Stockmanship is an integral ingredient for a successful and profitable livestock business.

The foundation for Low Stress Stockhandling is four Basic Animal Instincts that explain what animals want and why they behave the way they do.  In addition, there are Seven Principles that guide how we can interact with animals to work with these natural instincts and produce low stress outcomes.

The Basic Animal Instincts and the Principles of Low Stress Stockhandling are universal.  They have been put into a framework that makes them easy to learn and they form the basis of the Stockhandling School content.

The business benefits and increased profitability of low stress animal handling are enormous and lead to improved production, better meat quality, higher economic returns and a safer, more enjoyable working environment.

There are still some spots available for a school being held near Dunkeld on May 18th and 19th.
