Susie Chisholm will be offering her entire drop of 150 “H” cows (2.5 year olds), PTIC, in the Team Te Mania Online Commercial Female Sale on March 3rd.
“Team Te Mania is now in its 20th year, and the quality of the cows offered in its Annual Female Sale has never been higher” said Hamish McFarlane, Te Mania Angus.
The 700 cows offered in this year’s sale are Te Mania Angus bloodlines, or PTIC to Te Mania bulls, and are well recognised for calving ease, fast growth with high fertility and great carcase attributes”.
The sale on Tuesday, March 3rd, will be conducted through AuctionsPlus and is online only, on the eve of the Te Mania Angus Bull Sale. All the cows are independently assessed by AuctionsPlus, and remain on vendor properties until sold.
Susie Chisholm of Gwalia, Adelong is a volume vendor in the sale, offering her complete drop of “H” cows, PTIC, who are ACR recorded and EU accredited. Gwalia has been a Progeny Test herd in the Team Te Mania program for 20 years, and sells steers direct to Rangers Valley.
Susie said “these cows are jewels in the crown of the Gwalia herd, and are ideal for someone wanting to inject high performance genetics into their herd.”
“They have been pregnancy tested with a 94.38% pregnancy rate – only nine empty out of 160, and are due to calve in July.”
“They have just weaned their first calves, the weaning weights of their calves ranged from 271kg – 313kgs, which is pretty good for first calf heifers!” she said.
Also in New South Wales, 36 heifers, 18 months, PTIC to calve Jul/Aug are offered by Evan and June Baillie, of Glencoe, Forbes, and 40 heifers, 18-20 months PTIC to calve Aug/Sep are offered by Dennis Stewart Traquair at Condobolin.
The geographic range of the cattle offered, spreads throughout Victoria with volume lines offered in Western Victoria.
Stephen Brain of Boona, Mumbannar will offer 100 cows and heifers, PTIC to calve in Jul/Aug, and Colin Henke of Lakala offers 85 cows, also at Mumbannar.
Ian, Pam and Devan Robertson of Wave Hills, Hamilton will offer 20 cows with calves at foot.
Also in Western Victoria, Michael Carroll of Widgegonga offers 45 cows, PTIC at Derrinallum, and Jack Roxburgh of Coomete, Hawkesdale – 120 cows, and David McCulloch, Cherrymount, Glenthompson – 20 heifers.
Other vendors include Fiona Conroy, Knewleave, Queenscliff offering 17 cows with calves at foot, ACR (Angus Commercial Register) recorded, EU and MN3; Te Mania Angus -20 ACR cows at Mansfield, Ray Cooper, Little Aire Falls, 40 cows at Beech Forest, and Peter Billings – 12 cows, unjoined, at Wargoona, Winchelsea.
