Te Mania Angus, Mortlake is home to the main breeding herd of 1,400 cows, and 800 bulls which are marketed annually. We are a family run operation, in the business of genetic improvement of cattle, and are seeking a Stockperson to join our team.
Our business involves extensive performance testing and recording, and innovative beef research projects. We are very focussed on regenerative farming and working with low stress stockhandling principles.
We are looking for an experienced stock person to provide pivotal support in the management of the cattle.
The right person will be a good communicator, willing to learn, and above all, a team player who is passionate about working with animals. They will have previous experience in animal husbandry/stock work on a livestock property, managing pastures, feed budgeting and have an understanding of rumen function.
Duties will include monitoring the cattle; feeding, joining, calving, weighing, animal recording (on web-based systems) and animal husbandry. Other general farm maintenance is included, along with rotating weekend rosters.
